• Display Name: The name you choose to be called on air
• Audio: Your voice during live podcast sessions

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
• Usage Information: Features you use, shows you follow, sessions you join
• Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes and errors
• Push Notification Tokens: To send you notifications when shows go live

Information from Third Parties

• Sign-In Providers: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those services

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Send you notifications when shows you follow go live
• Connect you with podcast hosts during live sessions
• Improve and develop new features
• Communicate with you about the Service
• Ensure security and prevent fraud
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Audio Recordings

Live Sessions:

• Your audio is transmitted in real-time to podcast hosts and other participants
• Podcast hosts may record sessions for their podcasts
• Recordings are controlled by podcast hosts, not by us

We record:

• Audio from live sessions for podcast hosts to download
• Recordings are stored for 30 days, then automatically deleted
• Hosts can download recordings during this period

We do NOT record:

• Private prescreening conversations (between you and the host before going on air)

4. Information Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal information.

We may share information with:

• Podcast Hosts: Your display name and audio when you join their sessions
• Service Providers: Companies that help us operate (hosting, analytics)
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect rights and safety

5. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to alert you when shows you follow go live. You can:

• Control notifications per-show in the app
• Disable notifications entirely in your device settings

6. Data Retention

• Account Data: Kept while your account is active
• Audio Recordings: Deleted after 30 days
• Usage Data: Retained in anonymized/aggregated form

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information
• Object to certain processing
• Data portability

However, no system is 100% secure. Use the Service at your own risk.

String is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we'll delete it promptly.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including Australia where our servers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party services including:

• Supabase: Database and authentication
• Agora: Real-time audio
• Expo: Push notifications
• Apple/Google: Sign-in services

These services have their own privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
